How do I open the Search Console?

By GEO Search Console Published

You open the Search Console at search.google.com/search-console, the same address on a computer or a phone, signed in with the Google account that has access to your site.

There is nothing to install. This page is part of our Google Search Console FAQ.

Steps to open the Search Console

To open the Search Console for a site you already manage:

  1. Go to search.google.com/search-console in any browser.
  2. Sign in with the Google account that verified the site or was added to it.
  3. Pick the site from the property menu at the top left.
  4. You land on that site's Overview page, with links to every report.

If you manage several sites, the property menu switches between them. Each one keeps its own reports and its own list of users.

When the Search Console opens with "Add property"

If the Search Console opens on a screen asking you to add a property, the account you are signed in with has no access to any site yet.

That means one of two things.

Either you are signed in with a different Google account than the one that has access, or nobody has set the site up. Our page on the Search Console login explains how to find the right account, and the page on connecting Search Console to a website covers a new setup.

Opening the Search Console on a phone

You open the Search Console on a phone at the same address, in the phone's browser.

The reports work on a small screen, though big tables are easier to read on a computer. Google doesn't make a phone app for it: our page on the Search Console app explains the options.
