Free Claude SEO skills: organization schema and Common Crawl checks

By GEO Search Console Published

These free Claude SEO skills write organization schema for every name your company goes by and check whether Common Crawl has your pages. Common Crawl is the open web archive behind the best-known AI training datasets, and when it is missing your pages, the check names what blocked them. Both skills download from this page as ZIP files, with no sign-up, and work in Claude on the web and desktop, Claude Code and Codex.

We make both, and each one's helper script needs only Python: nothing else to install and no API key. Below the downloads are the install steps, what to ask for, and four other Claude SEO skill packs worth knowing, described from their own documentation.

What Claude SEO skills are

Claude SEO skills are folders that teach Claude one SEO job: a SKILL.md file with the instructions, usually a script that does the exacting part, and reference notes it opens only when it needs them.

Claude keeps each installed skill's short description in mind and loads the rest when a request matches it, so a skill costs almost nothing until you use it. Anthropic's Claude Code documentation calls a skill a SKILL.md file of instructions that Claude adds to its toolkit, and the same folder works in Codex and the other tools that read SKILL.md files.

The script is what sets a skill apart from a long prompt. Our schema skill's script runs the same checks on every block it writes, and the Common Crawl skill's script reads the index politely, one lookup at a time with a pause between, so a free service doesn't start refusing you. A skill adds know-how, not access: it reaches the web only if the place where Claude runs code allows it.

Our free Claude SEO skills

Our free Claude SEO skills are below, each a ZIP you can install in about a minute: the organization schema skill and the Common Crawl check skill.

    Organization schema

Schema for every name you go by

Asks for the official name, the variations people use, the logo and profiles, reads your site's schema, and writes the Organization, WebSite and founder JSON-LD with Google's checks.

    • SKILL.md
    • references/examples.md
    • references/properties.md
    • scripts/schema_tool.py

    organization-schema.zip, 59 KB, version 1.0, needs Python 3

  • 1 ReachClaude, Claude Code, Codex

    Common Crawl check

Is your page in Common Crawl, and if not, why?

Asks Common Crawl's index about a page, part of a site, a site or a domain, names the firewall or robots.txt rule that kept CCBot out, and reads the saved copy.

    • SKILL.md
    • references/reading-results.md
    • scripts/cc_check.py

common-crawl-check.zip, 81 KB, version 1.0, needs Python 3.8 or newer and internet access

Organization schema skill

The organization schema skill writes Organization schema (JSON-LD) for a company, brand, nonprofit or local business by interviewing you the way a careful SEO would. It asks for the official name and the variations people really use, reads the schema your site has now, suggests short forms, initials and the domain as variations, then builds the Organization, WebSite and founder markup tied together by @id and checks it against Google's rules before it hands it over.

It is the conversation version of our free organization schema generator and runs the same checks, so the two give the same code for the same answers.

Common Crawl check skill

The Common Crawl check skill asks Common Crawl's own index whether it has a page, part of a site, a whole site or a domain, and when it doesn't, works out why from what Common Crawl's bot got back. It names the firewall or bot blocker that turned CCBot away (Cloudflare, Wordfence, Sucuri, Imunify360 and others) with the setting to change, reads the robots.txt Common Crawl saved for what it tells CCBot and eleven AI crawlers, and reads the saved copy of the page for its title, H1 and word count.

It runs the same check as our Common Crawl checker, which does it in your browser. For why the archive matters to AI search at all, see our guide to what Common Crawl is.

How to install a Claude skill

To install a Claude skill, download its ZIP and put it where your assistant looks for skills, which takes about a minute.

Each ZIP holds one folder named after the skill with its SKILL.md inside, the layout all three of these expect:

  • Claude on the web or desktop. Turn on code execution in Settings, Capabilities ("Code execution and file creation"). Then open Customize, Skills, press the plus button, choose Create skill, then Upload a skill, and pick the ZIP. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner turns skills on first; Claude's Help Center has the details.
  • Claude Code. Unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ to use it in every project, or into .claude/skills/ inside one project.
  • Codex. Unzip it into ~/.agents/skills/, or into .agents/skills/ in a repository, the folders OpenAI's Codex documentation names.
  • Other tools that read SKILL.md files. Unzip it into that tool's skills folder.

The Common Crawl check also needs the code to reach the internet. Whether it can depends on where it runs and on your plan's code execution settings; when it can't, the skill says so and points you to the web checker instead.

How to use Claude SEO skills

To use Claude SEO skills, ask for the job in plain words: Claude matches your request to a skill's description and loads it.

Requests like these work:

  • "Make organization schema for Example Analytics, example.com."
  • "Is example.com/pricing in Common Crawl?"
  • "Why isn't my site in Common Crawl? It's example.com."

In Claude Code you can also call a skill by name, with /organization-schema or /common-crawl-check. The schema skill asks its questions in small rounds and ends with the code, where it goes and how to test it. The Common Crawl skill runs one check and comes back with the verdict, the reason and the fix, usually inside a minute.

Other Claude SEO skill packs

Other Claude SEO skill packs cover far more ground than our two, from full site audits to keyword research, and these four are the best known.

We describe each one from its own documentation as read on October 20, 2026. We haven't run them, so read the source before you install anything that runs code on your computer.

Skill packWhere it livesWhat its documentation says it coversWhat it needs
Claude SEO, by Agrici DanielAgriciDaniel/claude-seo on GitHub, MIT license26 sub-skills and 19 specialist agents for audits: technical, content, schema, local, GEO and moreClaude Code and Python 3.10 or newer; Google APIs optional
SE Ranking SEO skills, by SE Rankingseranking/seo-skills on GitHub, MIT license26 skills that turn SE Ranking data into content briefs, audits, keyword clusters and AI search share of voiceAn SE Ranking account with API access; each call spends API credits
Marketing Skills, by Corey Hainescoreyhaines31/marketingskills on GitHub, MIT license52 marketing skills in its list, SEO among them: seo-audit, ai-seo, programmatic-seo, schema, site-architecture and link-buildingAny tool that reads SKILL.md files; no paid account named
Hawk Academy Claude SEO skills, by StudioHawkhawkacademy.co/claude-seo-skills56 free skills, each a single .md file: technical audits, content briefs, schema audits, cannibalization and AI visibility checksNothing to pay and no email; made for Claude Code and Claude Desktop

If you want a full audit run from Claude Code, Claude SEO is the broadest of the four. If you already pay for SE Ranking, its skills put your account's data to work. Marketing Skills suits a team for whom SEO is one job among many, and Hawk Academy's single files suit people who would rather read instructions than install a plugin. Ours are narrower on purpose: each does one job, and its script makes the result the same every time.

What SEO skills can't do

What SEO skills can't do is make a weak page rank: they run jobs faster and the same way each time, but the judgment and the data still come from you and the sources they read.

  • Schema tells search engines which names, site and profiles belong to one organization. It doesn't rank anything by itself.
  • A Common Crawl check reports what the archive saved. It can't tell you whether a given AI model trained on your page.
  • A skill's script runs on your computer or in Claude's sandbox, so treat it like any download. Ours are plain text: open the ZIP and read every line before you install it.

Claude SEO skills FAQ

This Claude SEO skills FAQ covers what the skills cost, where they run, what they need and what they send.

Each question has a full answer on its own page in our FAQ.

Are Claude SEO skills free?

Yes, our Claude SEO skills are free to download and use, with no sign-up and no API key. The Common Crawl check reads Common Crawl's free public index. Some other packs need a paid data account.

Full answer: what Claude SEO skills cost, ours and others.

Do Claude SEO skills work in Codex and Claude Code?

Yes, Claude SEO skills work in Codex and Claude Code, and ours work in Claude on the web and desktop once code execution is on. They follow the SKILL.md format those tools share, and the Common Crawl check also needs the place its code runs to reach the internet.

Full answer: installing Claude SEO skills in Claude Code and Codex.

What do Claude SEO skills need to run?

To run, Claude SEO skills need an assistant that reads SKILL.md files and a place where it can run code. Ours also need Python 3.8 or newer for their helper scripts, which use nothing but Python's standard library, and the Common Crawl check needs internet access to Common Crawl's two servers.

Full answer: Python, code execution and internet access for Claude SEO skills.

Do Claude SEO skills send your data anywhere?

Our Claude SEO skills send no data anywhere you didn't ask for, and nothing comes to us. The schema skill reads your own site only when you give it the address, and the Common Crawl check only asks Common Crawl's index and archive about the address you check.

Full answer: what each skill reads and what it sends.

Can I change a Claude SEO skill?

Yes, you can change a Claude SEO skill as much as you like: each one is plain text, a SKILL.md and a Python script. Keep the folder name and the name line in SKILL.md the same, or Claude won't accept the upload.

Full answer: what to keep and what to change in a Claude SEO skill.
