Installing Claude SEO skills in Claude Code

To install Claude SEO skills in Claude Code, unzip each one into ~/.claude/skills/ to use it in every project, or into .claude/skills/ inside one project.

Claude Code uses a skill when your request matches its description, or you can call it by name at the start of a message: /organization-schema or /common-crawl-check. Claude Code's skills documentation covers both folders and the slash command.

Installing Claude SEO skills in Codex

To install Claude SEO skills in Codex, unzip each one into ~/.agents/skills/ for every repository, or into .agents/skills/ inside one repository.

Those are the folders OpenAI's Codex documentation names.

Codex needs a name and a description in every SKILL.md, and ours have both. It picks a skill when your request matches the description. In the Codex CLI or the IDE extension, you can also run /skills or type $ to mention a skill by name.

What the Common Crawl check needs in either tool

The Common Crawl check needs one more thing in either tool: the place its code runs must be allowed to reach index.commoncrawl.org and data.commoncrawl.org.

In Claude Code you can allow those two hosts in its sandbox or permission settings. In Claude on the web and desktop, code execution has to be on, and its internet access has to allow them. When the hosts are blocked, the skill says so and gives you a link to our Common Crawl checker, which runs the same check in your browser.

The organization schema skill needs internet access only to read your site's current schema, and it can build from your answers without it.
